Global
Clean Cooking Fuels Initiative 26/10/2004
This is a new effort of the International Energy Initiative aimed at catalyzing
a worldwide shift from solid cooking and heating fuels (biomass and coal) in
developing countries to cleaner fluid fuels by 2020 with an emphasis on the
poorest households gaining access to them.
Sustainable
Energy Solutions in North and South 02/06/2003
This is a partnership project among International Energy Initiative (IEI), Tanzania
Traditional Energy Development and Environment Organization (TaTEDO), and Sweco
Grøner. The project is financially supported by the Norwegian Fredskorpset and
it started in February 2003.
Energy
Efficiency Standards 02/06/2003
The general objective of this project is to support the Brazilian energy efficiency
law by elaborating the technical aspects and introduce minimum limits of energy
efficiency in the domestic electrical appliances. In particular this project
deals with one-door refrigerators and domestic air conditioners. The project
will establish the technical aspects which will lead to reduction in the consumption
of electrical energy and reduction in the environmental degradation. The "Life
Cycle Cost Analysis", LCCA, is applied to evaluate the socioeconomic impacts
of the technical innovations which could result into increased costs of production
and the prices of the appliances. This project has been supported by FAPESP,
IEI, the Collaborative Labelling and Appliance
Program - CLASP, and the International Energy Agency - IEA.
Energy Technology Foresight 08/10/2003
Contribution to formulation of energy science and technology policy in Brazil.
This is a Delphi exercise conducted by agencies from the Brazilian Ministry
of Sciency and Technology, coordinated by the Centre
for Management and Strategic Studies (CGEE) with IEI's participation. The
results of this project will provide recommendations for investments in Energy
Research and Development in Brazil.
GASEIFAMAZ 20/08/2003
This is a project of comparison between the biomass gasification technologies existing in Brazil and in other countries and formation of human resources in the northern region, GASEIFAMAZ. The central objective of the project is to develop a sustainable alternative to meet the growing demand for electrical energy in the isolated communities of the Northern Region of Brazil. The project develops the biomass gasification technology for electricity generation and evaluates the viability of the technology in Brazil.
Energy Library 24/06/2003
The library is an online collection of energy related books, articles, journals, manuals, CD-Roms and reports. Some of the documents are available for download.
Public Interest Energy R&D 02/06/2003
The public interest energy R&D is one of the subjects in the IEI global project on expanded provision of public benefits in the developing countries following the ongoing power sector reforms. In the recent years, the IEI Latin American office has been involved extensively on this subject in Brazil and internationally.> |
